Immaculate Conception and Archetypes

We were talking a few days ago in one of the classes about the concept of Immaculate Conception, and how that "proves" Jesus was divine. I made mention of the fact that that has been used to "prove" divinity, across our planet and cross culturally for eons.

I made a quick list from those old notes of my old religious philosophy class, and thought you all might be interested in it too, as many of us don't venture far from our own theological upbringing. Ready? I've always found this interesting.

AMENKEPT or AMENOPHIS of Egypt - was born to MUT-EM-UA, the virgin queen of Egypt, 2000 years before Jesus. He built Luxor. She was impregnated when the God KNEPH (holy spirit) held the cross to her mouth

HORUS or IOSOS of Egypt - was born to IISIS (or IOS and SEPT) Queen Mother, in Egypt. (Interestingly enough, she was a "virgo", hence SEPT being Virgo) She had an immaculate conception and gave birth to HORUS on Dec 25th. She was depicted with a crown of 12 stars HORUS is also known as IOSOS, which is the root word for IOSUS, or JESUS. HORUS by the way-died and was resurrected.

ASTARTE - a Syrian Godess is also considered a prototype of Mary. A virgin too, and the mother of mankind. The name translated over into Hebrew as Ashtoreth. She later became Semiramis, and her symbol the dove. She was big in Babylon, and was also associated with the MOON, and JUSTICE. Said to have given birth to the savior of man on Dec 25th.

PLATO was said to have been immaculately conceived. His mother, PERETONIA, was a virgin, and was to have been conceived by the ghost of APOLLO...who told her husband Ariston what was going to happen...just to be fair.

QUESALCOTE - born to a virgin mother named CHILALMAN. An immaculate conception, a crucifixtion, and a resurrection also after 3 days.

CHRISHNA in India-born of a virgin, DEVAKI. BTW-he was supposed to have died to atone for the sins of mankind (in 300 year BC) His birth was attended by angels and shepards. Survived a command from CANSA who ordered all the first born sons killed, and ascended back to heaven in front of others. And he was given frankencense and myrrh at his birth.

BUDDHA - conceived by MAYA, an immaculate virgin who conceived through divine influence...but really he never claimed to be a god. HE was born in the ordinary way to a rajah. Was said to walk through walls and walk on water, and performed miracles. Buddha lived and preached 500 years BEFORE Jesus was born.

QUEXALCOTAL in Mexico and South American-born of a virgin....no a 'spotless' virgin. Must be even better. The mother was COATLICUE, who cleaned the temple. She saw a ball of feathers fall from the sky, and she put it in her top near her buson. Later the ball of feathers was gone, and lo, she was pregnant.
Went into the wilderness for 40 days. Was crucified between two thieves, was buried and rose on the third day.

ESCHYLUS of the Huns-was the 'chaste virgin', and her son was the 'son of God'

ALEXANDER THE GREAT - a messiah cult was developed around him, and it was later claimed that he was born of a virgin and had no eartly father, although Philip of Macedonia is listed as his father.

XACA-a Chinese savior, was concieved of his mother MAIA, by a white elephant. All white animals are considered pure and holy, and she gave birth to him from her side.

SUCHIQUECAL - Queen of the Heavens, concieved a son without connection wtih a man-hence an immaculate conception

JULIUS - was considered to have been an immaculate conception - the son of the beautiful virgin CRONIS CELESTINE

OSIRUS - of Egypt - divine immaculate conception

APPOLONUS of Cappadocia - (contemporary of Jesus) said to have been 'overshadowed' (interesting term don't you think?) by the supreme God PROTEUS.

AUGUSTUS CAESAR - generated from the power of JOVE, and an immaculate conception conceived in the temple of Apollo.

CITLALTONAC- conceived a son from the virgin Chimalma...I can't find the name of the son.

YU of China - God, who's virgin mother was SHING MON, who conceived from a water lily. (think that's how the rumor that you could get pregnant in a swimming pool got started? Another Urban myth...) YU was the first Chinese monarch, and was conceived when his mother was struck by a star while traveling.

ARION of Byrsa - immaculately conceived by Gods in the citadel of Byrsa.

ZOROASTER of Persia - born of an immaculate conception from the ray of divine reason

MITHRAS of Persia - was born on Dec 25th, from the Sun God and a virgin mother. He performed miracles like raising the dead, blind/see, lame/walk. Put to death on a cross, buried in a cave, and reborn. Had a last supper with 12 disciples. Ascended to heaven.

TAMMUZ of Syria - 12 century BC, around the same time as KRISHNA, and ATYS, said to be the great grandson of Noah,

INDRA of India - is shown as having been nailed to a cross, and five wounds representing the nail-holes and piercing in his side. His mother was a virgin, he descended from heaven on a mission, and ascended back after his crucifixion.

BALI of India - was a crucified God. Also represented with holes in his hands and side

HESUS of the Druids-was born from the virgin mother MAYENCE. Her body was enveloped in light, and a crown of 12 stars sat on her head, and her foot on the head of a serpent, and the myth is more than 2000 years old.

IO of Eschylus - is called the 'chaste virgin', and her son 'the son of God'.

TIEN and CHANG-TI of China - born of virgins ' who knew no man', and reigned more than 2500 years ago, and they were worshipped as Gods. When CHANG-TI was born to an earthly virgin mother, angels sang and shepards attended the birth

HERCULES - was born from the God ZEUS and a mortal virgin, ALCMENE, also known as PRUDENCE. Hera wanted Hercules dead. Hercules died, and ascended to Mt Olympus and became a God.

CONFUCIUS - at his birth five wise men came from a distance and celestial music filled the air, and angels were there.

ALCIDES of Greece- born of ALCMENE, a virgin.

BACCHUS of Egypt - A God, born from the earthly virgin SEMELE.

SAKIA - his virgin mother was MAIA. His emblem was a cross, he was crucified, and was buried for 3 days and then rose. His mother was called "holy virgin mother of the world', and he was called 'savior of the world' and 'light of the world'

SUCHIQUECAL - called the Queen of Heavens, and she conceived a son without a man

QUIRINUS of the Sabines - a mysterious ancient Roman God, who existed before the Rome we know of. The story was later added to the story of Romulus. Conceived and brought forth from a virgin, crucified, and ascended into Heaven after 3 days.

VULCAN - was born from Juno, who was 'overshadowed' by the wind.

ZULIS or THULIS of Egypt - his mother was a virgin, and he was crucified. 1700 BC, Died at 27, and rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven.

JESUS - son of PANDERA but born a century before the Jesus we know.

I don't know about you, but I see a plot similarity...any comments?

Flute Expressions

I truly have to tell you how much fun I am having playing my flute. I told everyone in class last night this is the first time I have ever played any kind of musical instrument. I love music but until now never had the guts to explore it. I am having a blast. I can't believe how many different sounds I can get out of my flute. Sometimes I am playing and I hit a melody that just gives me chills. I was laughing and carrying on just a bit a go and thought, man I need to write this for everyone to see. I just can't believe the expressions you can achieve with a flute. I am listening to flute music, which I have a ton of, but I am not copying any of it, other than working on playing Amazing Grace, I love that song. This morning I mastered the starting of it. Talk about another aspect of self. I can't wait to play it in the canyons of Southern Utah.

Fire the Grid Results

No one has posted about this? I'm so curious-did you meet? Did you feel anything? I set my alarm and decided to say the OM MANE PADME HUM for an hour as I forgot to take the music.
At about half way my entire body started to shake uncontrollably and that lasted in waves for about 10 minutes. It calmed and I found myself very sleepy. I had to rock to stay awake to complete it, then I immediately dozed off until we had to get up for class.

The GCP is the "Global Consciousness Project" through Princeton. They DID note a statistically significant upward blip in human consciousness that day! How about that!

If you don't know who they are, the GCP has been measuring the shifting vibration in human collective/mass consciousness since 1998. This is multi cultural, international, multi-disciplinary, conglomeration of scientists, engineers, artists and others to track the consciousness of the world.

They have placed 60 instruments (called eggs) around the planet that measure deviations from norm and changes due to events, natural events, and disasters.

More to the point, from a scientific standpoint, is the rise in mass consciousness vibration since the GCP project started in 1998. Another quote: "The overall result is highly significant. The odds against chance are about a million to one," meaning that there IS a generally rising vibration of human consciousness.

Firing The Grid

Breathing Heaven and Earth, I haven't listened to all of her talk on You Tube, but I will finish it today. I am so deeply touched by what she is saying, so much of what she describes is so much, like what I have experienced. I honor her willingness to stand out there and say what she was told. Yes, I even feel some shame (I know clear it) that I wasn't willing to step out there and tell this story. I found as I was listening to her that I was crying. The music is so touching, but I found her the most moving of all. I don't know that I can even come up with the words to describe what I am feeling. I know that I am feeling another shift. Its an amazing time we are in. This bringing together community...we are all related...we can all be united...

Copying Beethovean

A beautiful movie if you haven't seen it. "Copying Beethovean"
I was struck by a particular passage is which he is telling his copyist, Anna Holtz, how to listen for the music. I wrote it down...

"...listen to the voice speaking inside of you. Find the silence in yourself so you can hear the music. Silence between the notes. Silence is the key. When that silence envelopes you, then your soul can sing."

It's the same thing in our work. Getting to that silence so we can hear.

Very harmful are the use of chemicals, the insecticides, transgenic seeds, etc. And most of all, these days, the nuclear testing: nuclear bombs and a great deal of war weapons, and the war in itself sterilizing or killing the planet Earth and affecting all living beings. Many people are homeless, children begging in the streets, others are involved in prostitution. Predators are on the rise. Dead people appearing daily in the streets, kidnappings, extortion, shootings in the schools, parents killing children, children killing children, parents raping their own kids. All this is a direct result of the contamination. There is no respect; no respect for life. The authorities sell themselves. The justice can be bought or sold.

Now lets speak about the future. We, the traditional Mayan elders, and all indigenous peoples in the world, meditate on the future. We don’t think only for today, the present, we think for tomorrow, for our children, grand children and future generations. We see a dark shadow approaching, a shadow that will cause a lot of harm. It is the great contamination. All this is due to man’s creation. We are digging our own graves. Wars are being transported to other countries; they reason in their speeches it is on behalf of freedom, but the result is more slavery. They speak that it will bring new development, but the result is more hunger for the underdeveloped countries. If we continue like this, the time will come when there are no more soldiers to form battalions. The Maya National Council of Elders of Guatemala ask all nations of the world – their governors and the governed ones – to put a stop to the contamination; and to the big and small enterprises, to find alternatives. We don’t want any more wars, no more death, no more nuclear testing, no more chemicals, because the warming up of the planet is unbearable to Mother Earth. If we don’t change, sooner or later, she will strike back with millions of lives lost.

Our Creator created us here over the face of the earth to worship him, to love and respect each other. We all are equal, we are flowers of the earth, in different sizes, of different colors, with different songs, with different smell, but all looking at our Creator, honoring him with different dances, different music, different ceremonies. We all plead to him,
we are his children, he is the creator of all that exist, all that we see and all which is beyond our senses. He has given us our life with an intelligence to do well. i received an email back from an architecture professor i respect very much... i sent something to him a while back just throwing out some thoughts that had been rolling around and around...funny i should get it today when i am ready to hear what he has to say....i thought he was ignoring me after the wordy heady email i sent....anyway he so kindly responded to all of my points then said:

'It sounds like you are thinking very deeply on all this. Usually when I find myself thinking in such terms I reground the thinking in some 'thing' whether an external system- like a city, a building, a film- or in a discipline, like making a drawing or music or a design. This becomes a way to test the thinking. Critical intuition. test. intuition. test.'

so important to stay grounded when head starts spinning...im going to install an automatic key for this....when mind starts going its only going to be allowed to go so far then like a pet on a lease im going to reel the sucker back in....powerful sucker that mind is and amazing if headed in right direction....

Exercise

The other day I was pouring a cup of coffee and listening to some salsa music. I think it was B TRIBE Kathy! I thought "man, why can't they just have exercise shows that are fun and like dancing or something?"

Well talk about manifesting!

I was flipping through the ON DEMAND option on Comcast later that same day, and lo' the have exercise shows on demand!
That means any time you want you can do a show, rather than having to fit it in to your schedule. But better yet-they have a whole series ON DEMAND of exercise DANCE classes! Yahoo!

They have Hawaiian dance which I did and can tell you was a whole lot of FUN!
They have salsa classes
They have hiphop classes

This was amazing fun, and a lot of good exercise. Those Hawaiian women have thighs of steel I tell ya! They can crack coconuts with their knees. I am so impressed. You do a half hour of hula and you have exercised all the right places. 45 minutes and you won't be able to walk the next day!

I felt awesome, and have had a great time doing them this week about every other day. Try it if you have Comcast. I wish I could record them-they are that good!

NEW AT JAMBA

I went to Ogden yesterday, and decided to stop at JAMBA to get wheatgrass and carrot juice. Imagine my surprise-the front had been painted bright red, newly painted jazzy colors inside and a "GRAND REOPENING" sign was up. A crackerjack staff of 4 that was cranking out juices as fast as they could, and lines out the door. It was 4pm. Ages were mixed-all over the place from young kids, to teens, to adults, to the aged. Hmmm.

The had 4 juicers, and at least 15 containers and the staff worked really well together with an eb and flow each knowing what needed to be done next. I was impressed. The recipes were down, very little waste...until it came to the wheatgrass. He made twice as much as my little cup held.

Why the crowd?

Well well. They've introduced a few new products. PURE FRUIT in a cup. Pomegranate, and peach, actually 5 new recipes-maybe 6?

Peach is peach juice, apple-strawberry juice, peaches, mangos, strawberries and ice. (juices are just that-added as juice)

Pomegranate paradise-pomegranate juice, strawberries, mangos, peaches, and ice.

Acai Supercharger is new too.
They had a few others.
They've also added some green tea blends-which they were out of btw.

So! They are hearing the healthy call (remember I mentioned they considered themselves a treat-drink?) and are getting on the healthy wagon. ALL FRUIT choices-no ice cream, no yogurt. Interesting.

And they were packed! I waited 20 minutes for fresh squeezed carrot juice and 2 shots of wheatgrass. I was the ONLY ONE ordering anything like that btw, and my order kinda brough things to a halt.

The other thing was their music was too loud, and people couldn't hear their names called. So one woman kept jumping the line and asking if her order was ready-and she had 6 juices. A...no...!

And they have a brightly colored brochure-that promotes their new recipes AND all their philanthropic efforts. Like supporting a district manager that has cancer by organizing a run to raise funds for his familiy, supporting teachers and profiling a patron who's lost 70 pounds by skipping subs and switching to jamba drinks.

Um-they just went public and are trading on NASDAQ. That means-watch out folks-they are going to take off cuz they have the funds to fly.

This is an email from Bo, who asked me to post it for her:

I was reflecting on the state of the system. The one I belong to and have struggled with over the last several years. The practice of medicine has become just that the practice of prescribing medications rather than the art of healing.

With increasing technology and "advanced" research, we have traveled further and further away from connecting to our source and intuitively knowing what it is we need to heal ourselves. Healers where left in the dust and in that dust the remains of our greatest gift, consciousness awareness of our true essence.

The music turned up louder and louder and the dance so frantic no one was allowed to sit down and collect themselves from the many fragmented pieces scattered across time.

Our patients have no real support in healing. They are given in the best-case scenario, education and instruction on taking care of their body's but there is no support in place to help them make the change. Patients become disheartened in their failed attempts and providers disenchanted as they are met with : Yes OK well I already tried that and failed. Isn’t' there just a pill I can take to make this better and please I would like to feel better right away.

As I walked up my stairs feeling the weight and the utter seeming futility of what it is I want to do I saw a vision of the universe. Maybe not this one, maybe another galaxy but it was awesome, vast, and infinite. I realized, each one of my patients is as vast and as complex as this solar system.

We have poisoned generation after generation not with pharmaceuticals but the lie that the only way to address illness is to listen only to what another person tells us is best for our bodies. The greatest sadness, we are so far removed and checked out that in truth we have to have someone tell us because we are no longer connected. For many, we are not even in our bodies. By the time we realize we are out of balance, we are already ill. The signs may have been there for years before we recognize the dysfunction as abnormal. We name it stress or aging or genetic predisposition. When in reality we have moved away from centerline and now are reeling from the vertigo of our imbalance.

What you all are doing takes great discipline. You are carving out an ancient tradition in a new pattern of being. Dancing on the cutting edge of our new consciousness the ballet you create is beautiful and yet to be fully defined. It is not just your willingness to address this issue physically that I applaud. It is your support of one another as you travel through the maze of your own personal universe. Well Done, or I should say " well in doing" as you continue on your way.

BE GENTLE ON YOURSELVES

It's not about good day or bad day. It's about noticing how you feel and coming back to center. None of this is about perfection!
It's about opening up to the center of you, and feeling it all the way in and out again! Like great big deep breaths that we take with our eyes closed and tasting the air.

This is all about the quality of our lives! I am so so so impressed and delighted and excited about all of us! It's been a great ride! It's about waking up. It's about feeling alive.

I was thinking why can't we approach the exercise the same way we did the raw? Do it from the process rather than the procedure. I mean, we got into this raw food thing from the process of it. The colors, the flavors, the textures, the combinations, the feelings, the artistry of the plates. We jumped over the standard rules. We jumped over the limitations and boxes of weigh, measure, portion, combine.

So, what are the restrictions around exercising and moving that we are balking at?
What are those gremlin voices saying about moving?
Can you hear them whispering? Yep. They are different whiney baby gremlins.
What are the "you can't make mes?"
What are the "I will when I'm good and readys?"
What are the voices of anger, or pain that are hiding under staying still?

It's exactly the same as the food.
We really like eating well. Ok. We know we really feel better when we move. So. Same same. Why aren't we? Same same.

We need to reframe exercise the same way we did food.
So, here's my idea.
We have to make it all about the joy of moving. No pun intended. Walking in the sunlight, and tasting the air (ok not down there-it tasted like chlorine yesterday-what is THAT about???)

Wonderful music that makes us want to sway...and dance! A walk around the block with the dog and your camera. A dog's walk-meaning smell the flowers, enjoy the sites. Go to the park and watch kids!! They love it. Let's schedule some hikes or a photographic trip to the desert for the day. Or a weekend in MOAB. Anyone up for that? We could go this time of year and get 2 rooms that adjoin and have a girl trip.

Remember, the myths. What are the movement myths in your childhood-life? I hated PE class. I found it embarassing and judgmental. I never seemed to be fit enough even when I ran track and swam swim team. I always was critical of my body, my thighs.

I put that study on the lightlinxx blog earlier. They've now decided that normal daily MOVING is enough. It doesn't have to be miles of cross training. It's about moving ourselves in our daily lives. That means to me...moving with INTENT. Moving with MINDFULNESS. Moving with LOVE FOR MOVING. So for 30 days, can we do moving with intent and moving with love, and moving with mindfulness? Shamanic walks in nature to collect beautiful things. And shamanic walks in nature to commune. It's not about attacking movement like it's a task to be added to our list of things I have to do! I think the "I have go move more" is exactly what is pushing our butons-unconsciously of course.

Wow! That took me a long time to get this one. We almost missed it. It's about LOVING MOVING IN OUR BODIES AGAIN>not having to move our bodies. hah! We are feeling lighter! We are feeling like dancing. Let's dance! I want to sign up for a belly dancing class! Anyone else?

What is the body of moving? What is the emotion of moving? What are the beliefs around moving. What is the spirit of moving?

Long deep breaths. And mindful moving. Hmmmmm
That's already reframing it TOTALLY for me. Anyone else?
