I was curious today about why God would possibly put so many deadly poisonous snakes on the planet. Asking the question yielded an interesting answer:
A dozen diagnostic tests and drugs have been derived from snake venom. Drugs to treat high blood pressure and cardio disorders have come to us from a Brazilian snake.
There are 3,000 snakes in the world, and of those, 650 are poisonous-but we are discovering new species all the time, so who knows what ELSE is out there? They are experimenting with snake venom to cure cancerous tumors.
